While digging through drawers full of old junk one day at my dad’s house, I found some cassette tapes filled with silly home recordings. One tape in particular contained recordings of my sister and I as young children; reading nursery rhymes, telling jokes, inventing bizarre radio stations and other ridiculous shows, plus a wide variety of other incredibly random sound bytes and noises. In other words, I had stumbled upon a sample goldmine!
“1985 EP” is a collection of strange, brooding, electronic rhythms that were inspired by the quirky, nostalgic sounds I sampled from that childhood cassette tape.
Enjoy!

This is very good stuff, I’m impressed, and I like it a lot. Send it to Ai and get it out on vinyl.
Great musical use of this material! I liked most Laughter and Window. — That tape must have seemd almost like finding a cheap bottle of juice evolved into a fine wine after XX years in the basement ;-)
brilliant. thx a lot!
Sooo rad. Im showing it to all my friends.
Haunting and atmospheric. I really dig this, it’s kinda like Amon Tobin putting out an album on a few weeks’ allowance. Thanks for hosting this up for all of us!
Hey great stuff…warped…
Wow, awesome music! Laughter is pretty scarry :)
No comments? What the…!? ‘mnot a nostalgic person per se, but when it comes to recorded audio nostalgia – I’m a suckaaaaaaaa; and this is grrrrrreat!!! Really fine sit and listen material, which is what I did. Tastefully done, sir. It’s all very good – highlights for me are ‘laughter’ (dig the tape deck stop sample, and the contagious laugh at the front, dig it all really) funky track! ‘ghost’ is a gem; and ‘fireman’ (thanks for supplying the lyrics)
I appreciate you making this available. Be well & Peace – Kenny
