Welcome to the new Illformed.org website!
As you can see, quite a lot has changed. The site will no longer be functioning as a collective creative outlet for my friends and I, since most of the people involved (myself included) have either been inactive for a very long time, or are simply focusing mainly on other websites and time-consuming projects. As a result, the amount of content being generated by Illformed as a group was barely more than a trickle. After taking all of this into consideration, plus the fact that the site was hosted on a rather expensive dedicated server which was mainly going to waste, I could simply no longer justify the site’s existence. Time to chalk it up to experience and move on to something new!
This new, smaller site will serve as a home for all of my personal interests such as music production, programming, graphics, and photography, as well as being the home for any projects that I am working on in the future. I have decided to keep the Illformed name since I have always liked it, and since it has become quite recognisable due to my rather infamous Glitch VST plug-in.
Speaking of Glitch, I am going to be dedicating a lot more of my time to audio software development from this point onwards. After 9+ years in the web development industry I am definitely ready to try a new direction in life. Ultimately I would love to be able to make a modest living creating interesting plug-ins and other tools, so you can expect to see a few new things coming in the future, including some updates to Glitch, plus a mixture of fun freebies and reasonably-priced commercial products on offer.
In the meantime, please bear with me while I get comfortable with this new site and fill it up with content.
Cheers!
Hey, welcome back online! Please consider phoning in_tense for She Is a Subwoofer 2 :P
Glad you came back, Kieran - a thousand thanks to you for making Glitch. I only found it very recently and its become my fave FX plugin. Look forward to more stuff from you.
Hi there Mr.Kieran !
I’m also a new user of the VST Plug-in Glitch!
It kick as!!
It reminds me of the VST Plug-in “supatrigga” witch was a long time favorite :)
I have a few requests for the Glitch Plug-in
1. When you turn a knob you want to see the value.
2. An advanced sync to host so you can choose the 1-16 Presets were you want it to kick in! e.x: If you only want it in a brake in bar 64.
3. When you build your own preset with a few emty spots in the Glitch seq. when you press the randomize button “fx”
I would like it NOT to fill in the emty spots. Maybe a “fill emty spots” button for that issue?!
4. Maybe some more fx like: A simple Reverb, Flanger (from the prev. version) Chorus, Distortion, Decimator, etc.
5. Maybe two Seq. so you can put to different Fx on the same place. (so you don’t need to put two plug-ins.
6. When you have the random block in the seq. ( =R ) you sometimes wan’t to know witch fx it chose, maybe the fx channel can blink so you see witch one it chose or if you could see the number fx in the R block.
I hope my ideas is not too hard to accomplish : ]
/ Respect from a heavy weight producer
Does that mean the next version would be Illformed Glitch v2.0? Exciting! ;)
In light of the suggestions from above. I think adding effects like reverb, distortion, and chorus is really un-necessary, and think it would be a bit redundant. Especially since, there are so many options for these kinds of things out there, I’d hate to see Glitch stray down that path just to fill it out.
More control would be amazing. Especially, being that Glitch is my favorite of these kinds of plugins for the amount of control that is allowed, among other reasons.
That said, I think some of your own ideas are really good, and it seems to me that you know exactly how to make it better. Advanced sync options sound good, as does a new sequencer. Does the new sequencer mean that layering effects within Glitch will soon be a possibility? That’s something I’d like to see, and also, if that’s possible, a signal chain would be convenient, to control which effects are processed first. I hope I made that understandable. ;) Also, if you like the signal chain idea, it’d be neat if it could be automated.
Hey Kieran,
I’m absolutely in love with your VST and I can’t wait to see the future plug-ins,you got a loyal customer.
A great plug in. I’m using Ableton 6 and I find the beat repeat plug in on there very limiting. This is a really flexible plug, but I was wondering if there was any midi mapping so I can use it with a controler like X-sessions. Any clues how I can do this?
Hey Gary,
In Live you have to create a new MIDI track and set it to receive MIDI data directly from your controller and send the MIDI data out to the audio track that you have Glitch on. Then, you can just use Glitch’s own MIDI Learn to map everything.
That’s great, I’ll get straight on it. Thanks.
MOAR DRUNK CALLS!
any plans for a mac wersion?
I think you should put a PayPal Donate button on the Glitch download. If people contribute (I know I would), you’d have a reward for your work. If they don’t, at least you’d have some market research on what people would actually pay for audio products - miserable, cheap losers… ;-)
Anyone know the wherabouts of Esque and whether there are any new musical creations coming from him?
Kieran, I am glad you are still keeping up the site…. I knew this place since the dope-design days, haha, and the site sure has evolved over the years! Hope to hear and see more musical and graphical developments.
Hi there
I would just love to say I really love glitch. I havce been writing music for mnay years and I am nearing completion of building my own home studio.
I think glitch is a powerful and original plugin.
There is one thing about it which has troubled me some time. I would be willing to donate up to $au100 to having it addressed.
Basically I love to use glitch on vocal lines and have experimented with choral lines. However even with DeCLick turned up to Max- I still get a LOT of clipping artifacts- pops, snaps etc due to the sound switching between the different effects.
If possible, can the ‘declick’ feature be improved by having it operate as the Last thing in the signal chain, and make it work like an attack envelope to quickly ramp up volume from zero to max after everytime a new effect is applied?
Please email me if you want to further discuss the issue. My offer of payment is genuine and I would love to support this!
Cheers

I got glitch about 2 days ago. and let me tell you. I love this danm thing. Thank you. You have made my job a whole lot easier. It almost feels like cheating kinda. But I dont care. You have takin a ton of pressure off of my back by making this plug-in. I have A.D.H.D really fuckin bad(seriusly bad), and when ever I go to put glitches and slow downs and stuff in my music manually, I get frustrated and side tracked and I have a hard time pulling it off. With your plugin you have put the fun back into producing music for me. Great peace of work this is. Thank You.
Glitch, You Made It !!
