A collection of time-lapse scenes that I shot while on vacation in Toronto recently, photographed using my Canon G9, with help from CHDK and an intervalometer script. I used VirtualDub to process the 3,000+ photos into actual video. The music is an untitled track that I started back in 2007, but never got around to finishing.
I’ve been tweaking a few things on the site, moving some pages around, etc., so I apologise if you encountered any broken links!
Glitch has been moved into a new VST Plug-ins section. In there you will also find some smaller plug-ins that were created a while ago but never officially released, namely: Crusher, Stretch, and TapeStop. These were created mainly as proofs of concept, but a few people picked up on them and found them to be useful, so I just thought I’d make them publically available again.
Finally, due to the requests made by various people, I have added a PayPal donate button to the site. If you have enjoyed using Glitch or any of my other plug-ins, and you would like to help support their future development, a donation would be hugely appreciated!
This morning, I was surprised by a FedEx delivery guy knocking at my front door. Not expecting any packages myself, I assumed it would be something for one of my housemates, but, lo and behold, the package – a large, heavy box – was in fact addressed to me. “What could this mysterious package be?”, I wondered…
Plastic Robot, a newly-created electronic music blog/zine, interviewed me recently to talk about Glitch, my music, my workflow, and to get my thoughts on a few other topics. If you want to see me ramble for a little while, you can read the interview at their website: plasticrobotdotnet.blogspot.com.
In other news, I must apologise for the lack of updates to my own website. Although I have been working on a lot of different things over the past few months, there hasn’t been much that warrants a full post yet, in my opinion. Either way, I will try to be a little more active in the future by posting more bits and pieces to the site.
Welcome to the new Illformed.org website!
As you can see, quite a lot has changed. The site will no longer be functioning as a collective creative outlet for my friends and I, since most of the people involved (myself included) have either been inactive for a very long time, or are simply focusing mainly on other websites and time-consuming projects. As a result, the amount of content being generated by Illformed as a group was barely more than a trickle. After taking all of this into consideration, plus the fact that the site was hosted on a rather expensive dedicated server which was mainly going to waste, I could simply no longer justify the site’s existence. Time to chalk it up to experience and move on to something new!
This new, smaller site will serve as a home for all of my personal interests such as music production, programming, graphics, and photography, as well as being the home for any projects that I am working on in the future. I have decided to keep the Illformed name since I have always liked it, and since it has become quite recognisable due to my rather infamous Glitch VST plug-in.
Speaking of Glitch, I am going to be dedicating a lot more of my time to audio software development from this point onwards. After 9+ years in the web development industry I am definitely ready to try a new direction in life. Ultimately I would love to be able to make a modest living creating interesting plug-ins and other tools, so you can expect to see a few new things coming in the future, including some updates to Glitch, plus a mixture of fun freebies and reasonably-priced commercial products on offer.
In the meantime, please bear with me while I get comfortable with this new site and fill it up with content.
Cheers!
